About the role

As a Compliance & Risk Analyst, you'll help ensure that our payment operations stay on the right side of regulation and that our merchants are protected from fraud and financial crime.

You'll work closely with our operations, engineering, and finance teams to monitor transactions, investigate alerts, and develop the policies and controls that keep us compliant as we scale. This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Head of Compliance.

What you'll do

  • Monitor transaction activity for signs of fraud, money laundering, and unusual behaviour.
  • Investigate triggered alerts and escalate cases that require further review or SAR filing.
  • Support merchant onboarding through KYB and KYC checks and risk scoring.
  • Maintain and update compliance policies, procedures, and internal documentation.
  • Liaise with card schemes and acquiring banks on disputes, chargebacks, and compliance queries.
  • Assist with regulatory reporting and audit preparation.

What we're looking for

  • 2+ years in a compliance, fraud, or risk role within financial services or fintech.
  • Working knowledge of AML regulations, PSD2, and FCA requirements.
  • Experience conducting KYB/KYC checks and risk assessments.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to spot patterns in transaction data.
  • Clear, precise written communication for case notes and regulatory correspondence.
  • The right to work in the UK. We cannot sponsor visas for this role.

Nice to Have

ICA or ACAMS qualification, or working towards one.

Experience with card scheme rules (Visa/Mastercard).

Background in payments acquiring or e-money institutions.

    Intro call — 30 minutes

    With our Talent Lead. We'll talk about your compliance background and what you're looking for.

  2. 02

    Technical interview — 60 minutes

    With the Head of Compliance. Case-based questions covering AML, fraud scenarios, and regulatory knowledge.

  3. 03

    Stakeholder interview — 45 minutes

    With our COO and a member of the operations team. Culture fit and cross-functional working style.

  4. 04

    Offer — within 5 working days

    Feedback either way, always. The whole process takes about three weeks.
